The Birth of Country Club Wrestling
It all started on a summer evening at the men's bar at Druid Hills Golf Club, where John Waddy and Dustin Weeks found themselves deep in conversation over drinks on the porch. As the evening progressed, Waddy made a bold wager: he bet Weeks couldn't throw him off the porch.
What happened next drew a crowd of curious members, and in that moment of absurd bravado between two friends, a spark was ignited. That spontaneous challenge inspired a vision far grander than a simple bet—an entire evening of wrestling entertainment on the driving range, complete with grudge matches, tag teams, and theatrical spectacle.
From that porch, the Country Club Wrestling Association of America (CCWAA) was born, and with it, Wrestle O Rama—proving that sometimes the best ideas come from the most unexpected wagers.
