WHEREAS the Country Club Wrestling Association of America welcomes member clubs committed to the gentleman's art of athletic dispute resolution;

WHEREAS Druid Hills Golf Club of Atlanta, Georgia has submitted a formal application for chapter status, demonstrating commitment to our bylaws, traditions, and the sacred principle that disputes among the privileged are best settled through regulated combat;

WHEREAS Druid Hills Golf Club represents the HISTORIC FOUNDING LOCATION of the CCWAA, where Douglas Smith Jr. established our organization on March 14, 1953—making this application not merely an admission but a HOMECOMING;

WHEREAS the Druid Hills wrestling team includes:
• A dedicated tax attorney seeking athletic fulfillment beyond the balance sheet
• A United States Marine Corps veteran bringing military discipline to the mat
• A three-time backgammon champion with enthusiasm that cannot be measured

BE IT RESOLVED that Druid Hills Golf Club shall be granted full competing chapter status for the current championship season, effective immediately.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Board extends a warm—if competitive—welcome to their wrestling team, and looks forward to witnessing their debut at the upcoming championship.

BE IT NOTED FOR THE RECORD that this represents the first new chapter admission in 7 years, and the first return of a founding club in CCWAA history.

"DRUID HILLS! The ORIGINAL team! History is HAPPENING!"
— RICKY Star, Executive Director, upon receiving this application

I'm 56 years old and I've been waiting for Druid Hills to rejoin since Nixon was in office. My late father competed in the 1971 Atlanta Regional at Druid Hills—lost in the semifinals to a man who later became a state senator, but he always said it was the most dignified defeat of his life. WELCOME BACK, DRUID HILLS! Show these youngsters how it's done!

Listen, I've been doing this for 40 years, baby. Started as a valet at the East Queens Lawn Bowling and Carps Club, worked my way up to a regional champion. And I'm telling you—when I saw that Druid Hills application come across my desk, I got CHILLS. This is where it all STARTED. 1953. Douglas Smith Jr. The original rule book. And now we're going BACK. This isn't just a motion—this is DESTINY. ✨

New chapters always shake things up. Remember when Boca Raton joined in '89? Chaos. Three martini-related incidents. Two blazer disputes. One competitor who insisted on wrestling in a smoking jacket ('It's FORMAL,' he argued. The judges disagreed). I'm just saying—let's proceed with caution and maybe extra napkins.

I've heard their team includes a Marine veteran AND a tax attorney. If that combination doesn't scream 'country club wrestling material,' I don't know what does! One can handle combat, one can handle the IRS—together, they're unstoppable! Welcome to the family, Druid Hills! May your pins be clean and your cocktails be strong! 🥂

I have... concerns. I believe we have a responsibility to maintain competitive standards. Has Druid Hills demonstrated adequate training facilities? Do they have experienced competitors, or are we admitting enthusiastic amateurs? I'm not saying they shouldn't compete—I'm saying we should ensure they're PREPARED to compete. Against professionals. Like myself. Nothing personal. Just protecting the integrity of the sport I've dominated for a decade.
