About Les Dornoch

Les Dornoch has been Steve's best friend since childhood, back when they'd spend Saturday mornings watching professional wrestling in Les's basement and dreaming of championship glory. 'I was Hulk Hogan, you were Nature Boy Ric Flair—we'd wrestle 'til our mothers made us come up for air.' While Steve internalized every failure as proof of his unworthiness, Les simply refused to see defeat. Where Steve sees a locked trophy case covered in dust, Les sees opportunity. Where others see a defunct wrestling league with absurd bylaws, Les sees a path to the championship blazer his best friend has always wanted. His optimism isn't naïve; it's stubborn. He's watched Steve give up on himself too many times, and he refuses to let it happen again. As Les tells him: 'You think you're not athletic? Brother, here's the thing—wrestling isn't just sports, it's stories in the ring! It's drama, it's pageantry, it's putting on a show!' As the team's unofficial historian and hype man, Les digs through decades of CCWAA records, discovering both the league's glory days and Max's money laundering scheme hidden in the byzantine bureaucracy. His friendship with Steve is the show's emotional anchor—a reminder that champions aren't made alone.

Character Journey

Les's arc is about the power of believing in someone else. While Steve learns to believe in himself, Les learns that his unwavering support was exactly what his friend needed all along. His discovery of the corruption drives the plot forward while his friendship drives the heart.
